This year, white was out and more than ever colors and textures came flooding back in. The biggest design trend we saw this year was … Colored Kitchens.
Yes that’s right!
2019 Interior Design Trend Number One:
No more white on white on white kitchens. The trend this year specifically was either a blue and white kitchen or the ever popular Nightwatch green.
2019 Interior Design trend Number Two:
Adaptive furniture. We see more people living in smaller spaces – more condos are also being built in our downtown core and so we are finding furnishings that can adapt to different spaces.
2019 Interior Design trend Number Three:
This trend is just starting to make its way to our city and it’s that of the statement ceiling! Ceilings used to be standard white with popcorn, textured or smooth white surfaces. And now, we are seeing painted ceilings, mirrored ceilings, wallpapered ceilings and or art work ceilings.
The statement ceiling is sort of taking over from the statement wall. Remember when lots of homes had the red wall?
A reimagined ceiling can make a room appear larger, brighter and best of all, more memorable than any common accent wall could.
2019 Interior Design Trend Number Four:
Whether you only have a small kitchen breakfast nook to work with or if you’ve got an oversized kitchen, a beautiful kitchen banquette will be sure to encourage conversation while potentially boosting the resale value of your home as long as you go for a well-built, classic style. Think – custom made to fit your home perfectly!
And a kitchen banquette will also help you use the space you have to work with all the better so you can seat as many people in your kitchen as possible without having to bring in extra seating. Even better if you can build concealed storage under your kitchen banquette seating.
